Overview

The flagship line for premium print finishing.

The SAGLIN-MTM·L Leader series is our premium multi-functional film laminator line, engineered for printers whose customers expect zero compromise on lamination quality. The series covers water-based polyurethane gluing, thermal lamination with pre-glue coated film, and dry lamination of MPET, OPP, BOPP gloss/matte, and PVC films — extending downward to 100 gsm thin paper and 6 μm ultra-thin film for premium publication and luxury packaging applications.

“Twenty-two years of laminating manufacturing experience, condensed into a four-model line built for printers who ship their own brand to luxury buyers.”

Four configurations match different sheet sizes and budget points: SAGLIN-MTM-108A and SAGLIN-MTM-108C for half-format printers, SAGLIN-MTM-130C and SAGLIN-MTM-130D for full-format B1 production. All four share the same drive geometry, thermal energy cycling drying core, and the cold-water non-curling system that distinguishes the Leader line from mid-range alternatives.

Every machine ships with electrical and pneumatic specifications adapted for the Russian and CIS markets (380 V / 50 Hz, EAC certification support), and can be installed and commissioned by our partner HD RUS LLC in Moscow.

Leader Capabilities

What you only find on the Leader line.

Beyond the production fundamentals shared with the rest of our laminator portfolio, the Leader series carries four engineering features that distinguish it from mid-range alternatives.

EXCLUSIVE · STANDARD

Cold-Water Non-Curling System

Sheets stay flat after separation

A cold-water cooling stage immediately after the press section eliminates residual heat in the laminated stack. Sheets exit flat and ready for direct die-cutting — no waiting period, no offset stacking corrections, no curl reject. Standard on all four MTM·L models.

Pays back in: reduced reject rate, faster downstream
Available on: all four Leader models
EXCLUSIVE · STANDARD

Thin-Paper & Ultra-Thin Film

From 100 gsm paper · from 6 μm film

Lower threshold than mid-range laminators: 100 gsm thin paper for premium magazine and book-cover work, and 6 μm ultra-thin film for soft-touch matte and gold/silver foil-safe lamination. Engineered specifically for the publication and luxury cosmetics segments.

Best for: hardcover wraps, perfume cartons, premium periodicals
Min sheet size: down to 350×350 mm

Engineering

Eight engineering advantages.

Common to all four MTM·L Leader models — the engineering language refined across 22 years of laminator manufacturing experience.

01

High-Speed Servo Feeder

Servo-controlled feeder system delivers precise, stable sheet feeding at production speed. Pre-stacking device for non-stop pile replacement during long runs.

02

Thermal Energy Cycling

Whole-machine heating uses a thermal energy cycling system — high-speed drying with energy savings. Designed for sustained two-shift operation rather than peak-only output.

03

Cold-Water Non-Curling System

Cold-water cooling stage after the press section eliminates residual heat in the laminated stack. Sheets exit flat after separation — no curl, no waiting period before downstream die-cutting.

04

Chain-Knife Cutting

Servo-controlled chain knife with ultrasonic-sensor and encoder positioning. Suitable for multi-material lamination including OPP, PET, and metalized films across partial and multi-roll work.

05

Anti-Static Powder Removal

Electrostatic powder-removal system before the gluing section. Eliminates print powder dust from offset operations to ensure clean, contamination-free lamination — critical for premium soft-touch finishes.

06

Non-Stop Feeder & Delivery

Continuous-flow feeder and delivery mechanism keeps the line running through pile changes. Critical for premium publication runs and luxury packaging where job interruption costs more than the equipment.

07

Steinemann-Compatible Hot Knife

Optional Steinemann (Switzerland) hot-knife technology, including servo-controlled track system, tension control, and laser-sensor positioning. Recommended for the highest-end PET, PVC, and metalized PET applications.

08

Siemens HMI · Remote Diagnosis

Siemens PLC and HMI with real-time production data: speed, sheet count, temperature on one screen. Error display with solution prompts. Remote diagnostic support via the HD RUS technical hotline.

Applications

Where the Leader line earns its premium.

Three end-markets where mid-range laminators reach their limits and the MTM·L difference matters at every sheet.

Luxury Cosmetics

Perfume & Skincare Cartons

Soft-touch BOPP matte and 6 μm ultra-thin film for gold/silver foil-safe lamination on luxury cosmetics cartons. The cold-water non-curling system delivers sheets that stay perfectly flat through hot-foil stamping and embossing — where a 1 mm curl causes register failure.

Premium Publication

Hardcover Wraps & Art Books

Thin-paper capability from 100 gsm covers premium magazine, art-book, and high-end periodical work. Engineered for printers serving museum catalogues, design publications, and fine-art books — where lamination quality is the visible cover treatment.

High-End Retail

Premium Folding Cartons & Display

Sheet sizes from 350×350 mm enable economic short-run premium work alongside large-format full-format production. The right machine for a single facility serving both luxury packaging and high-volume folding-carton output.

Frequently Asked

Questions buyers ask before signing.

How is the MTM·L Leader line different from other premium laminators?
Three things distinguish the MTM·L from other premium laminators in this segment. First, the cold-water non-curling system delivers sheets that exit perfectly flat — no waiting period before downstream die-cutting. Second, the thin-paper threshold extends to 100 gsm and the film threshold to 6 μm, opening publication-grade and luxury-cosmetics applications that mid-range machines can’t reach. Third, the optional Steinemann hot-knife technology brings Swiss-engineered cutting precision for the highest-end PET and metalized-film work.
SAGLIN-MTM-108A vs SAGLIN-MTM-108C — what’s the difference?
Both work with 1080 mm working width. SAGLIN-MTM-108A handles sheets up to 1080×1080 mm — the standard B2 half-format. SAGLIN-MTM-108C extends sheet length to 1080×1450 mm for printers running long-format half-size work. Choose SAGLIN-MTM-108A if you primarily run square-format cosmetics cartons and book covers; choose SAGLIN-MTM-108C if your job mix includes long-format brochures and presentation folders.
SAGLIN-MTM-130C vs SAGLIN-MTM-130D — how do I choose?
Both are full-format machines with 1300 mm working width — the standard configuration for printers running Heidelberg CD/XL 105 or Komori GX40 presses. SAGLIN-MTM-130C handles sheets up to 1300×1450 mm, the most common B1 format. SAGLIN-MTM-130D extends sheet length to 1300×1650 mm for oversized work — the right choice if your job mix actively includes pharmaceutical instruction inserts, large-format display cartons, or oversized art-book wraps. If you don’t run sheets longer than 1450 mm, SAGLIN-MTM-130C is sufficient.
When should I add the optional Steinemann hot knife?
The Steinemann hot-knife option pays back in shops that run premium PET, OPP, PVC, and metalized PET as a primary segment of their business. The hot knife delivers cleaner edges than chain-knife cutting on these materials, and the servo-tracking system maintains edge quality at sustained 70 m/min lamination speed. For shops running mostly water-based BOPP gloss/matte, the standard chain knife performs equally well at lower capital cost.
Is the machine EAC certified?
The MTM·L Leader series carries CE certification. EAC certification is arranged through our partner HD RUS LLC in Moscow as part of the turnkey delivery package — they handle the declaration of conformity for the Russian Customs Union. Estimated certification lead time: 30–45 days, included in our standard project schedule.
What is the typical lead time and delivery schedule?
50 working days from receipt of 30% deposit — slightly longer than our mid-range MTM·E series due to the cold-water non-curling system manufacturing time and additional QC steps. Sea freight to St. Petersburg or Novorossiysk typically takes 35–45 days. On-site installation and commissioning by our HD RUS team takes 12–16 days. Operator training is 5 working days, conducted in Russian.
What films and adhesives are compatible?
The MTM·L Leader is engineered for water-based polyurethane (PU) adhesives — the dominant glue chemistry in modern premium print finishing. Compatible films: BOPP gloss, BOPP matte (including soft-touch), MPET (metalized PET), OPP matte, PVC, and pre-glue coated thermal films. Film thickness range 6–25 μm — the lower 6 μm threshold is critical for ultra-thin gold/silver foil-safe lamination on luxury cosmetics. Our Achilles Gruppe partnership provides access to premium film and surface-treatment expertise on request.
What warranty and after-sales coverage do I get?
12-month full warranty from the date of acceptance on installation. Lifetime spare-parts supply guarantee. Remote diagnostic support in Russian and English via our HD RUS technical hotline. On-site service by HD RUS engineers based in Khimki, Moscow region. Recommended 12-month spare-parts kit at approximately 4–6% of machine value.
