Overview

Built for the print house scaling into premium finishing.

The SAGLIN-MTM·E series is a fully automatic vertical dry-lamination film laminator designed for converting offset-printed sheets into laminated, ready-to-die-cut substrates. The series covers water-based polyurethane gluing, thermal lamination with pre-glue coated film, and dry lamination of MPET, OPP, BOPP gloss/matte, and PVC films at production speeds up to 80 m/min.

“From 150 LPI ceramic anilox rollers to 28 kW electromagnetic drying — the MTM·E series delivers consistent gloss and bond strength across long, multi-shift production runs.”

The series spans five configurations engineered to match different sheet sizes and budget points: SAGLIN-MTM-108E and SAGLIN-MTM-108E3 for half-format printers, SAGLIN-MTM-145E for half-format with longer sheet length, and SAGLIN-MTM-145D / SAGLIN-MTM-165D for full-format B1 production. All five share the same drive geometry, gluing system, and electromagnetic drying core — only the sheet handling and frame width differ.

Every machine ships with electrical and pneumatic specifications adapted for the Russian and CIS markets (380 V / 50 Hz, EAC certification support), and can be installed and commissioned by our partner HD RUS LLC in Moscow.

Why printers choose the MTM·E

  • Servo-controlled high-speed feeder, paper pile height 1250 mm

Lamination speed and overlap precision depend on paper quality, film type, and operator experience. The 80 m/min top speed is verified on calibrated 250 gsm coated stock with BOPP gloss film. Specifications are subject to change without notice as part of continuous improvement.

Cutting Configuration

Three knife options. Choose by film type and budget.

The cutting module separates laminated sheets after the press section. The choice between chain, disc, and hot knife depends on the films you run most often and your tolerance for pre/post-trim handling.

STANDARD · INCLUDED

Chain Knife

Frequently Asked

Questions buyers ask before signing.

What’s the difference between SAGLIN-MTM-108E, SAGLIN-MTM-108E3, and SAGLIN-MTM-145E?
All three handle 1080 mm working width. SAGLIN-MTM-108E and SAGLIN-MTM-145E ship with the standard chain-knife cutting module — the difference is sheet length: SAGLIN-MTM-108E handles up to 1080×1080 mm, SAGLIN-MTM-145E up to 1080×1450 mm. SAGLIN-MTM-108E3 adds a disc-knife module alongside the chain knife, giving you dual cutting capability for mixed film portfolios. If most of your work is BOPP gloss/matte and you have B2 sheet sizes, the SAGLIN-MTM-108E is usually sufficient.
SAGLIN-MTM-145D vs SAGLIN-MTM-165D — how do I choose?
Both are full-format machines with 1300 mm working width. SAGLIN-MTM-145D handles sheets up to 1300×1450 mm — the most common configuration for printers running Heidelberg CD/XL 105 or Komori GX40 presses. SAGLIN-MTM-165D extends sheet length to 1650 mm for oversized formats. If you don’t actively run sheets longer than 1450 mm, SAGLIN-MTM-145D is the right choice — SAGLIN-MTM-165D adds frame size and capital cost without daily benefit unless your job mix includes oversized work.
Chain knife vs hot knife — what’s the production difference?
Chain knife is excellent for OPP, PET, and metalized films at standard production speeds. Hot knife (the E4 option, using Steinemann technology from Switzerland) provides cleaner cuts on PVC, premium metalized PET, and fine-weave BOPP at the highest sustained speeds. Hot knife is recommended if your shop runs multiple film types daily or serves luxury packaging customers where edge quality matters at the millimeter. For commercial print houses running mostly water-based BOPP, the chain knife performs equally well at lower capital cost.
Is the machine EAC certified?
The MTM·E series carries CE certification. EAC certification is arranged through our partner HD RUS LLC in Moscow as part of the turnkey delivery package — they handle the declaration of conformity for the Russian Customs Union. Estimated certification lead time: 30–45 days, included in our standard project schedule.
What is the typical lead time and delivery schedule?
45 working days from receipt of 30% deposit, 5 days longer than our flute laminator series due to the electromagnetic drying system manufacturing time. Sea freight to St. Petersburg or Novorossiysk typically takes 35–45 days. On-site installation and commissioning by our HD RUS team takes 10–14 days. Operator training is 5 working days, conducted in Russian.
What films and adhesives are compatible?
The MTM·E series is engineered for water-based polyurethane (PU) adhesives — the dominant glue chemistry in modern print finishing. Compatible films: BOPP gloss, BOPP matte (including soft-touch), MPET (metalized PET), OPP matte, PVC, and pre-glue coated thermal films. Film thickness range 10–25 μm. We can supply a starter PU adhesive package with the machine on request — please specify your job mix in the inquiry.
Can the machine produce de-plastic (recyclable) laminate?
Yes — the water-based polyurethane adhesive system is compatible with de-plastic film recovery, unlike traditional UV systems. After de-plasticization, the laminate offers improved color saturation, no crystal-point texture, and supports repeated 180° die-cut folding without color burst. The de-plastic surface is also more receptive to surface stamping and screen printing. We can configure the machine for recyclable-laminate workflows on request.
What warranty and after-sales coverage do I get?
12-month full warranty from the date of acceptance on installation. Lifetime spare-parts supply guarantee. Remote diagnostic support in Russian and English via our HD RUS technical hotline. On-site service by HD RUS engineers based in Khimki, Moscow region. Recommended 12-month spare-parts kit at approximately 4–6% of machine value.
